Ferry Lines to and from Skiathos

As you probably know, the easiest way to travel from your European destination to Skiathos is via airplane straight to the airport of Skiathos, but what if your home country does not have a straight flight to Skiathos?

There are a few options, more or less comfortable and depending on your traveling budget.

Traveling from Ag. Constantinos, Volos, and Matuidi to Skiathos by ferry.

Traveling from Ag. Constantinos to Skiathos is one of the few ways of getting to Skiathos on a daily basis. You can also travel from Volos to Skiathos if you landed at Volos Airport, there is a bus connecting the airport to the harbor of Volos, which takes about 45 minutes. If you are traveling from Athens like I, then you can take the connecting bus from Athens to Ag. Constantinos from Monday to Friday and then jump on the ferry to Skiathos and Skopelos. From Friday to Sunday you can connect with the Hellenic Seaways „Flying Cat“ which is a much more modern way of transportation and only takes 1 hour and 45 minutes compared to the 3-4 hours trip I have vast myself upon.

Find the Greek vacation rhythm.

Matuidi located on the Peninsula of Evia is the last alternative, busses are connecting from Athens to the port of Matuidi. The journey is „only“ 3 hours, so brace yourself with patience and bring a good book. There is no WIFI on the vessels, so your journey might just be a healthy way of disconnecting from your stressful life at home and a great way to climatize to your vacation mode.
Here you will find pieces of information about the Departures from Matuidi, Volos and Agios Constantinos. We will also provide you with the contact information for the bus company connecting from Athens to the mentioned ports.

I wish you safe travels and enjoy the warm weather and the warmth of the Greeks.
